Objective

The Objective of Bussiness Associates is to improve the income of the poor by developing suitable micro enterprises / income-generating activities, based on the skills available with them or the potential of the location where they live. It also undertakes contract farming of different agricultural, medicinal and biofuel plants by having marketing tie up with coporate companies.
IKF is interested in working with Bussiness Associates to achieve contract farming of Jatropha over an area of upto 50,000 hectares. IKF will undertake to acquire the entire produce of Jatropha seeds or Crude Jatropha Oil produced by contract farming undertaken by Bussiness Associates at pre-agreed rates.

Role Of Bussiness Associates

The business associate shall be our interface with the farming community. The role of the business associate /NGO's/ Private Associates shall be as follows

Identification of catchment/clusters for Growth of Jatropha.

Training of farmer SHGs in package of practices and cultivation of Jatropha

Catchment area development

Coordination with government agencies

Coordination with Insurance company in co-ordination with IKF

Coordination with Financial institution in co-ordination with IKF

Coordination with subsidy giving agencies like NOVOD to enable farmers to receive the subsidy of growing.

Procurement of Oil seed and supply to IKF

To generate awareness amongst the farmers about Jatropha cultivation

Identification of the potential farmers and land which for Jatropha cultivation

Collection of LPC, Verification etc.

Facilitating a contract agreement between the farmers and IKF Greenfuel Limited

To arrange training programmes, farm visits for the farmers

Supervision of planting operations and provide necessary assistance and technical support to the farmers for initial period of 2 years.

To act as a facilitator for seed procurement for IKF Greenfuel Limited

Each business associate shall be responsible for promoting Jatropha cultivation in his area of operation. He shall be expected to promote Jatropha cultivation on atleast 1000 ha area. Wherever wastelands are not available he shall promote Jatropha cultivation on farm boundaries. He shall also help promote Jatropha cultivation in schools/ institutions and local government bodies. For purpose of coordination, he shall report to IKF Greenfuel Limited office in the respective states.
